Why clients choose Kevin

One lawyer. Your case, start to finish.

At a large firm, your file can pass through a dozen hands before anyone who will stand in front of a jury reads it. At The Law Office of Kevin Butler, the attorney you meet at your first consultation is the attorney who investigates your case, negotiates with the insurance company, and tries the case if the insurance company will not pay what it owes.

1Attorney · Your case

The lawyer you hire is the lawyer who handles your case to the finish.

Kevin has spent his career on one side of the courtroom: the injured person's side. He has never represented an insurance company. He founded his firm in 2016 and built it on car crash, premises and wrongful death cases, then spent more than three years as a senior medical malpractice litigation attorney at one of the largest injury firms in the country, trying complex cases before Florida juries. In 2026 he returned to his own practice to give clients what large firms cannot: direct access to the lawyer handling their case.

Every case is different. Past results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome.

Cases we take

Crashes on I-95. I-4. I-75. Every road between.

Motor vehicle accidents and personal injury are the core of Kevin's practice. Insurers have adjusters and defense lawyers working to pay you less. Kevin works to make sure your medical bills, lost wages and pain are fully counted.

Core practice

Car accidents

From fender benders that left you in pain to life changing collisions, Kevin handles the insurers so you can focus on getting better.

  • Rear end and T-bone collisions
  • Uninsured and underinsured drivers
  • Uber, Lyft and delivery drivers
  • Hit and run
Core practice

Motorcycle accidents

Riders get blamed first and paid last. Florida does not require PIP coverage for motorcycles, so these claims need a lawyer who knows where the money is.

  • Left turn and lane change crashes
  • Road rash, fractures and head injuries
  • Helmet and fault disputes
  • Wrongful death
Core practice

Personal injury

If someone else's carelessness put you in the hospital, you may be owed far more than their insurer's first offer.

  • Truck and commercial vehicle crashes
  • Pedestrian and bicycle accidents
  • Slip and fall, premises injuries
  • Medical negligence
Florida crash rules

Three numbers that decide your case.

Florida changed its injury laws in 2023, and the new rules favor insurance companies. Miss one of these and you can lose benefits or your whole claim. This is why you call a lawyer early.

14
Days · See a doctor

Get medical treatment within 14 days of the crash or you can lose your PIP benefits.

Fla. Stat. § 627.736
2
Years · To file suit

For negligence claims arising after March 24, 2023. It used to be four.

HB 837 (2023)
51%
At fault · You get nothing

If you are found more than half responsible, Florida now bars recovery entirely. Insurers know this and push blame onto you.

Fla. Stat. § 768.81

How it works

What happens after you call.

No intake clerk, no runaround. If your case is one Kevin cannot take, he will tell you promptly so you can protect your rights elsewhere.

  1. Free consultation

You talk to Kevin, not an intake clerk, about what happened and what your options are. There is no charge and no obligation.

  2. Investigation

Kevin gathers the evidence early: crash reports, video, medical records, witness statements, and in medical cases, the physician review Florida law requires before a malpractice suit can be filed.

  3. Demand and negotiation

He builds the case and presents it to the insurance company with a clear demand backed by evidence.

  4. Trial if necessary

If the insurer will not pay what your case is worth, he files suit and prepares it for a jury. Insurance companies know which lawyers try cases. That knowledge changes their offers.

Your attorney

Kevin Butler

The Army taught him to run a complex operation with discipline and no wasted motion. That is how he runs a case.

Kevin has served in the Florida Army National Guard since 2011 and holds the rank of Major, serving as a Brigade Logistics Officer. He brings that discipline to the courtroom, along with an MBA that lets him read an insurer's numbers the way their adjusters do.

You will have Kevin's direct contact information, and he returns calls. You will get straight answers about what your case is worth, including when the honest answer is that a case is not viable.

Questions families ask
Should I talk to the other driver's insurance company?

Not before you talk to a lawyer. Adjusters record calls and look for anything that shifts blame to you. Under Florida's 51% rule, a few careless words can cost you the whole claim.

What if I was partly at fault?

You can still recover as long as you were not more than 50% responsible. Your compensation is reduced by your share of fault, which is why the facts of the crash need to be locked down early.

What is my case worth?

It depends on your medical bills, future treatment, lost income, pain and the available insurance. Kevin will walk you through it honestly in your free consultation.

Will my case go to trial?

Most cases resolve before trial, but insurers pay more to lawyers they know will try the case. Every file is prepared as if it is going in front of a jury.

I'm not in Orlando. Can Kevin still help?

Yes. The firm is based in Orlando and represents clients in every county in Florida. Most of the work in an injury case happens by phone, video and email, and Kevin travels for depositions, hearings, mediations and trials wherever the case is pending. Distance from Orlando is never a reason to go without a trial lawyer.

What if Kevin can't take my case?

He will tell you promptly and plainly, so you can protect your rights elsewhere before any deadline runs.
